Looking into a spare for my FE

My 2019 FE didn't come with a real spare, just that tire sealant kit to "save weight." I found a kit online (jack, wrench, compact wheel) for $190.50 shipped, not including the tire. It's part #M7F40-AU000, dpes anyone think that's a decent deal? I am also wondering what I might pay for a compact tire and installation if I piece it all together

OEM kits usually run between $200–$250 shipped alone, so you're already in the ballpark and compact spare tires generally go for depending on brand and size anywhere from $50 to $100 new. If you bring it to a local tire shop, expect a labor charge around $15–$25 for mounting and balancing, so in total, you're looking at roughly $260–$315 installed, which is pretty reasonable considering the convenience of having a real spare

That price sounds fair, especially if the kit's complete and clean. I'd say grab it and just shop around locally for the tire to save a bit more.

What's the expected cost range for a compact tire and install separately? The $190.50 kit seems reasonable, but I'm curious what others paid for just the tire and mounting

What's helpful here is knowing I'm already close to typical pricing, thanks! I'll check local shops for tire options and mounting to see if I can land around that $260–$315 range.

Yeah the $190.50 kit seems fair, I'll compare local tire prices and labor to make the best decision

That total cost seems fair for everything, and yeah, hitting up some local places for the tire could save you a few bucks. It's a solid plan that balances getting a good deal with keeping your sanity
