CarPlay and back-up camera on 2017 Forte5

I just picked up a used 2017 Forte5. The previous owner didn't do much mods and I'm itching to add some modern tech, mainly Apple CarPlay and a backup camera, without messing with the factory head unit. I'm really eyeing those standalone CarPlay screens that sit on the dash, especially the ones that include a backup camera. Any suggestions? Also I'm concerned if mounting the backup camera is a DIY job? I'm keen to hear from anyone who's installed an aftermarket camera, how and where you mount it!

I went with a CarPlay screen from Carpuride that includes a backup cam, worked great in my '16 Forte, mounted the cam just above the license plate using the existing screws, wiring it through the trunk trim wasn't too bad, just take your time

Dash-mounted CarPlay screens are a cleaner solution than tearing into outdated factory head units...OEM purists hate them, but factory systems age fast and offer less for more. As for backup cameras, DIY beats dealer installs 90% of the time

Do you want the backup camera to be wired for reliability, or are you considering a wireless one for easier install?
